Brushstrokes is a group
of 20 artists that was created in the year 2001 by Suzanne
Engel. The original goal was to get three to four artists
together to discuss art. Topics often include the full
spectrum of art with a primary focus on painting. Our
current round table discussions consist of the local and national
instruction and instructors, supplies and mediums, and current
events in the constantly evolving Atlanta arts scene.
Painting is a solo occupation and it's entertaining and informative
to talk with fellow artists.
The years progressed, the membership increased to sixteen with a commitment not to grow larger in order to keep the initial concept of a small intimate group. As Brushstrokes grew, it began to critique work produced by the members, exhibit, host art shows, and sell paintings. We also have paint outs and visit galleries and museums abroad. It's the only group of artists that get together in the Sandy Springs, GA area. |
