Barbara Robinson

Bio

Though Atlanta has been her home for more than thirty years, Barbara  Robinson’s heritage comes from 5 generations of pioneering Californians.  From an early age, Barbara has sought personal expression in the arts.  She started formal training in oil painting 10 years ago after retiring from careers in the Culinary Arts and Interior Design.

She captures the momentary lights from plein air painting into the divine moods of her paintings.  The counter balances between Man and God, the Civilization of Man in God’s World, and Divine Light are often the recurring themes of her work.  “Painting is my hymnal of civilization; I see the beauty of God’s creations everywhere I look.  His presence affects the light as it flows thru the layers of transparent paints.”
Barbara has studied with national artists Craig Strebnik, David Leffel, Albert Handell, Armand Cabrera, Scott Burdick, and Susan Sarback.
